Darling Farah - Berline
Darling Farah’s Berline EP is released today featuring a remix by amongst others, Diskotopia resident A Taut Line
Today, Civil Music release Berline, the debut output by 18 year old producer Darling Farah. Born in Detroit but raised in the United Arab Emirates, Farah’s production techniques showcase a knowledge, ear and passion well beyond his teenage years. Berline, sees him delving deep into minimal techno and house, whilst still offering an insight into his forthcoming material, in which he exhibits a wide range and eclectic mix of sonic stylings.
Civil Music have quickly built a reputation for finding and then nurturing some of the freshest and most interesting talent in electronic music. The London based imprint have thus far been behind the successes of Rusko, Drums of Death and Reso but even they have truly surpassed themselves with their latest finding. The burgeoning label picked up on the teenage producer from his United Arab Emirates home, a place where live music is prohibited from being played in public, to now present his debut release.
The remix package is as eclectic and dynamic as the producer and the track itself. Eglo Records’ Funkineven turns in a blistering acid rework before Infiné’s Clara Moto and San Francisco’s Christin Martin take things deeper into house with their wonky and shuffling remixes respectively. Furthermore, there is a remix by Diskotopia’s Matt Lyne under his A Taut Line moniker that has already been getting a lot of airplay by amongst others Tom Ravenscroft (John Peel’s son) on his BBC 6 Music show twice and by fellow Tokyo resident Xlii for the Rhythm Incursions / Raid System monthly podcast show.
